35th Cycling tour
of Trentino

The Sport Group Alto Garda, based in Arco, has organized this important international professional cycling competition called "Tour of Trentino", which winds along the picturesque valleys of Trentino. This competition is usually the last race in laps which the professional cyclists can compete in before the Tour of Italy. Every year some of the most esteemed Italian and foreign teams take part, coming from Spain, Belgium, USA, Austria, French, Swiss, Holland, etc. They present about 200 of the most famous racing cyclists. 

After having received the 2.HC status by UCI, the Italian four-day stage race (running from April 19th to 22nd) is in advanced preparation stage. As usual, Giro del Trentino will start with an individual time-trial from Riva del Garda to Arco to prepare two difficult mountaintop finishes, in Fai della Paganella and Madonna di Campiglio, perfectly fitting many riders to head 94th Giro d'Italia's pink jersey.
Last details regarding stage-2 has been set as well, with departure from Dro and finish line in Bezzecca (Valle di Ledro), a famous place because of Garibaldi's troops battle: a really meaningful opportunity to celebrate Italy Unification's 150th anniversary and discover beautiful landscapes: on the track, riders will roundabout even ten lakes!
In the meanwhile, organizers are working to define last details about a surely high-class starting list, thanks to 9 Pro Tour teams' to line-up. Right now, Giro del Trentino's technical level looks excellent, even though GS Alto Garda's managers still hope to announce some last-minute surprise and put a real top-standard cycling show on the scene.
