	The territory of Tenno is characterised by striking contrasts: in the lower part, the Cologna and Gavazzo hamlets, there are gentle slopes of olive trees; in the upper part, the antique districts of Canale and Calvola, the vegetation and landscape lose their Mediterranean characteristics and acquire Alpine ones. Tenno is an ancient place and joins valleys of primary importance. Today it is characterised by its castle, constructed on a Roman foundation in a strategic position reigning over the valley with Lake Garda further down. The enchanting medieval district of Frapporta is at the top of the rock of San Lorenzo and begins at the castle. The little church of San Lorenzo is at the far end of the inhabited area. A visit to the Canale district is a must. Here houses are joined to a central building constructed in the form of a fortress with arches and lobbies. Here one feels an atmosphere of times past among porticoes and alleys.
