Free-Climbing: International competition
Arco, 06-07/09/2008

The free-climbing competition will also be the queen of the sporting manifestations of Arco in 2008. In fact the Rock Master appears again as one of the most spectacular moments of the World Permanent Ranking Calendar, the international permanent classification. The procedure will be the same as has already been tested in the previous editions, which makes this event a "classic" of free-climbing. There will be foreseen two tests, one "on sight " on an unknown route, the other "after work" will take place on a path already tested during the days before the competition. On Saturday evening the "parallel speed» will be held, a procedure invented here in Arco.
This year women will compete in the Speed competition and the world record piste will be used for the XXIII Rock Master.

Arco Rock Legends: the climbing Oscars at Arco.
The third edition of the Arco Rock Legends will be held on the eve of the Rock Master. This is composed of the "Salewa Rock Award" and the "La Sportiva Competition Award" for the best climber outdoors and the best competition climber, chosen by a select international jury comprised of some of the most important climbing magazines worldwide.

FRIDAY 5 September 2008
21.00 – Casinò Municipale di Arco - Award's ceremony Arco Rock Legends, introduction of finalists and announcement of the two winners.
A short video clip presented by the finalists will give an insight into sports climbing worldwide. The evening will be hosted by none other than Kay Rush, the exceptional radio and TV journalist, climber and sports woman.
